New Delhi: True to the image he built
over decades on the celluloid, veteran actor Rajesh Khanna's last words
were apparently "time up ho gaya - pack up!", his colleague and
Bollywood star Amitabh Bachchan said.
"As I sat at his home this (yesterday) afternoon, to pay my respects, soon after learning of his passing away, a close functionary of his, came up to me and told me in a choked voice what his last words were - 'time ho gaya hai! pack up!' (time's up, pack up), Bachchan, 69, posted on his blog.
"Just the mere mention of his name 'Rajesh Khanna' sent myriad images of fanfare, awe, and reverential mention. His generation and the generations that follow, shall never be able to describe, or understand his phenomena. The word 'superstar' was invented for him, and for me it shall ever remain his, and no others," Bachchan said.
Bachchan, who worked with the legendary actor in his initial years of
his career and starred in films like 'Anand' and 'Namak Haram', said
the opportunity to share screen space with the legend was like a god's
own blessing to him.
"I first saw him in a film magazine... His film 'Aradhana' was my next meeting with him which my Mother took me along to see. Soon after that, I was being cast opposite him in 'Anand'. This was like a miracle, God's own blessing and one that gave me 'reverse respect'. The moment that anyone came to know that I was working with THE Rajesh Khanna, my importance grew. And I gloated in its wake...
"He was simple and quiet. He would attract many visitors on set and was continuously surrounded by them - Hrishi da permitting! The frenzy and the following he garnered was a sight to behold. In the 1970 era his fans came from Spain to meet him, a most unheard of occurrence then. In his trade mark Rajesh Khanna kurta pyjama, he almost always looked the boy next door, one that girls would want to take home to Mother," Bachchan said.
Bachchan recalled that he visited his residence 'Aashirwad' just once when they were working together to wish him on his birthday, only to realise that he had reached a day earlier.
"My last meeting with him was when IIFA decorated him with a LifeTime Achievement Award and asked me to present it. His gracious words for me still resound...," Bachchan remembers.

The latest and greatest halo car for the Lamborghini brand - the Aventador - has arrived in style. This advanced new technical powerhouse comes packed with cutting-edge technology as well as an evolutionary look that seemingly blends the lines of the outgoing Murcielago and a modern stealth fighter jet.
As the name suggests, the Aventador boasts 700 horsepower and 509 lb-ft of torque at 5,500 rpm thanks to a naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12.When you couple that much power with the car's Haldex all-wheel drive, what you get is a zero-to-62 time of a blisteringly fast 2.9 seconds on the way to a top speed of 217 mph. These figures put the Aventador proudly atop the Lamborghini range and easily in the company of the most impressive supercars in the world.
Fuel economy is likely to the last thing on the mind of anyone considering a Lamborghini, but for the record the Aventador is rated at 11 mpg in the city and 17 mpg on the highway.
Light…but not that light
The Aventador makes extensive use of carbon fiber in an attempt to keep weight down, but the big Lambo still checks in at over 4,000 pounds.

Part of the reason behind the weight is the standard use of a Haldex all-wheel drive system - a small tradeoff for the incredible acceleration and handling capabilities that result from the system's addition.
To help offset some of the added weight from AWD, among other technologies, Lamborghini developed a new Robotized Independent Shifting Rods (ISR) transmission that is said to have shaved weight compared to a dual-clutch gearbox, while also managing to blast from gear to gear in just 50 ms for all seven forward gears.To help transfer all 700 horsepower to the ground at all four corners are two different tires and wheel sizes, 255/35/R19 for front wheels and tires, with massive 335/30R20 wheels and tires for the rear. Stopping this beastly Lamborghini are 400x38m six-piston carbon ceramic brakes in the front, and 380x38mm carbon ceramic brakes in the rear.

Interior and vehicle standard features include: Push to Start/Stop button, keyless ignition, full TFT displays in the cockpit, on-board computer, multimedia system with seven-inch display, iPod and USB interface, navigation, Bluetooth, bi-xenon headlights with washer, LED daytime running lights, automatic air conditioning with solar sensor, crepuscular and rain sensors and electrically adjustable and heated side mirrors with folding function.
Lamborghini also introduced a new suspension system uses pushrod technology, inspired by Formula 1 racing. It functions by locating the springs and dampers no on wheel mounts, but rather inboard to the body shell. The end result when coupled with the double wishbone suspension is precise handling in dynamic driving conditions, but almost luxury-like comfort when cruising.
Given the exotic nature of the Aventador, it is only fitting that Lamborghini decided to include a pair of new exterior colors: Metallic Grigio Estoque (a type of dark gray), and a pearl Arancio Argos orange. In addition to the two new colors, there will be three matte colors, including the white shown in Geneva, for a total of 13 exterior colors.

Exotic sports cars don't usually get cross-shopped like mid-size sedans, but the Aventador can still be compared with the Ferrari 599GTB Fiorano, the Aston Martin DBS and the McLaren MP4-12C.
